Les vins dégustés par Antonio Galloni sont :

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand Cru Blanchots- NOTE : 91

“The 2009 Chablis Blanchots is one of the more floral wines in this lineup. The spiciness from the oak is a little bit prominent here, but there is more than enough minerality to give the wine lovely freshness while staying true to the house style. The Blanchots impresses for its persistence and round, creamy finish. Jasmine and white peaches add the final nuances. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand-Cru Bougros Cote de Bouqueyreaux - NOTE : 90

“The 2009 Chablis Bougros Cote de Bouqueyreaux comes across as quite a bit cooler and more reserved than the straight Bougros. It possesses excellent cut, with smoke, slate and a host of other mineral notes that add complexity on the finish. Piuze is one of two producers who make wine from this parcel within Bougros, the other being Fevre. Note the ancient spelling of the vineyard name. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2017.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Premier Cru Butteaux - NOTE : 88

“The 2009 Chablis Butteaux shows more focus than the Forets. Clean, well-articulated aromatics yield to beautifully nuanced fruit in this nicely balanced Chablis. Neither the Butteaux nor the Forets is as exciting as one might expect considering their respective pedigrees. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume - NOTE : 90

“The 2009 Chablis Fourchaume is another of the riper wines here. It shows lovely persistence, with layers of expressive yellow stone fruit, flowers and mint that wrap around the palate. This is sensual and inviting from start to finish. This parcel in the heart of Fourchaume is the first vineyard Piuze harvested. The wine was aged 100% in barrel. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand Cru Grenouille - NOTE : 91

“The 2009 Chablis Grenouille is quite pretty. Smoke, ash, white peaches and flowers are some of the aromas and flavors that emerge from this precise, taut Chablis. This is a very nice Grenouille, and one of the most vibrant wines from this vineyard in 2009. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Premier Cru les Forêts - NOTE : 87

“The 2009 Chablis Les Forets is another of the bigger wines in this lineup. The fruit is quite lush, with suggestions of oranges, apricots and tropical notes. Ultimately this comes across as a bit flabby and volatile. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2017.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand Cru les Preuses - NOTE : 92

“The 2009 Chablis Les Preuses is quite understated. The fruit takes on layers of gorgeous perfume in an expansive, textured style that is highly appealing. This shows marvelous classiness and harmony from start to finish. All of the elements are beautifully balanced. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Premier Cru Montee de Tonnerre - NOTE : 91

“The 2009 Chablis Montee de Tonerre possesses considerable freshness and focus. Clean saline notes meld into white flowers and smoke in this textured, precise Chablis, one of the most harmonious of the premier crus here. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir de Chablis - NOTE : 88

“The 2009 Chablis Terroir de Chablis comes across as soft and delicate, with a hushed voice in its fruit that is quite appealing. The parcel is on the north-facing side of the Forets hill. This was aged 70% in steel and 30% in barrel. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir de Chichée - NOTE : 89

“The 2009 Chablis Terroir de Chichee is laced with attractive white stone fruits, flowers and pears. It is an attractive, understated wine to drink now and over the next few years. This is impressive at the village level. This is a blend of various parcels, including 20% plants that are more than 60 years old. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir de Courgis - NOTE : 90

“Smoke, slate and ash are some of the notes that emerge from the 2009 Chablis Terroir de Courgis. This is a decidedly tighter, more focused style with abundant minerality, focus and drive. A long, polished finish rounds things out in style. The inner tension here is quite typical of Courgis. According to Piuze, the plots have a higher percentage of clay than in many other vineyards. This is the last parcel Piuze harvests. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2017.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Terroir de Fyé - NOTE : 88

“The 2009 Chablis Terroir de Fye is the biggest of Piuze’s Terroir series. It shows the most obvious signs of the warm vintage in its ripe, generous fruit. Sweet apricots, peaches and mango with tropical overtones wrap around the creamy, voluptuous finish. This is round and quite racy from start to finish. The Terroir de Fye was aged 50% in oak. This 60-year old parcel sits on the slope below Montee de Tonnerre. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons les Minots - NOTE : 89

“The 2009 Chablis Vaillons Les Minots emerges from a parcel of 70-year old vines that is particularly affected by shot berries. This is a big, textured Chablis with exquisite depth and an expansive, creamy finish. The flavor profile tends towards the richer end of the Chablis spectrum, in part because of the greater presence of clay in this parcel. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2017.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin - NOTE : 91

“The 2009 Chablis Vaucoupin is gorgeous. Expressive aromatics lead to a core of precise, crystalline fruit. The Vaucoupin is relatively tightly wound at this stage, but it shows considerable freshness and persistence, especially on the mineral-drenched finish. The Vaucoupin was aged 60% in barrel. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2015.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir - NOTE : 91

“The intriguing 2009 Chablis Vaudesir possesses gorgeous textural richness and body, with an exotic, Riesling-like bouquet. Despite its overt personality, the Vaudesir stays light on its feet and impeccably polished all the way through to the long, inviting finish. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”

-* 2009 Patrick Piuze Petit Chablis - NOTE : 88

“The 2009 Petit Chablis is quite soft, pretty and inviting. Beautiful, perfumed aromatics are woven throughout, giving the wine lovely character and personality. I came back to the Petit Chablis after all the 2009 grand crus and it showed beautifully, which is high praise. The Petit Chablis is made from a parcel on the plateau above Les Clos. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2015.”

-* 2010 Patrick Piuze Petit Chablis - NOTE : 89

“The 2010 Petit Chablis emerges from the glass with green apples, pears, ash and flowers. It possesses marvelous focus and sheer energy at this level. Piuze’s 2010 Petit Chablis will give many a Chablis a run for their money in 2010. Anticipated maturity : 2012-2016.”
